Survey to Gather Information

Use this survey to post information anonymously about how textbooks affect your daily life in your school library. It seems more and more California school libraries are becoming textbook rooms with little concern for the cuts in educational opportunities available via the library. Additionally, districts don't seem to understand the processes, the cycles, the student interactions or the burdens that textbook management has on staff. Libraries are central to a strong academic focus on any campus. Textbooks distract from our goals. We must have the tools we need to be do our jobs well and be of the most academic support to our students. Provide us with staffing, funding and we can work wonders with improving test scores, student success in classes, provide curricular support, be a integral factor in technology integration and instruction and so much more. While it is flattering to think that no other department on campus can keep books as organized as we, school districts must also understand that we are more than textbooks and certainly more than just library books.
